A few minutes after VP Binay ended his short and lashing speech, Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda issued a statement where he acknowledged that in the five years that Binay served in PNoy’s cabinet, not once did he speak ill of the President’s governance policies.
He also acknowledged Binay’s service, but called it unfortunate that he decided to “start his presidential run with statements that could have been discussed with the president.”
“VP Binay has chosen a path that will define himself not only as an official but as a person,” he said.
