Malacañang asks public to bear with hellish traffic

This helps a bit, but it doesn’t change the fact that we still have to suffer.

“Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, in behalf of the administration, has appealed for the public’s understanding as heavy traffic is expected in Metro Manila with the start of the construction of major infrastructure projects,” reports ANC.

Lacierda stated, “We ask for understanding and support from the general public. In the end, this will benefit us in the long run.”

Th report noted: “Based on an advisory from the Citra Central Expressway Corp., the group that will undertake the PHP26 billion Skyway 3 project, an advance work site will be set up at 10pm on Monday, Feb 17, at the center island of Osmeña Highway from Buendia in Makati to Quirino Ave in Manila.”

The report went on to describe the Syway 3 project as “a 14.8-kilometer, six-lane elevated expressway that will complete the Skyway system from Alabang to Balintawak.” It’s targeted for completion before 2016.
