When will this overpriced series end?
“During the continuation of the 11th public hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee chaired by Senator Koko Pimentel, Atty. Renato Bondal once again accused Vice President Jejomar Binay, who was mayor of Makati at the time, of rigging the bidding for the construction of the Makati Science High School,” reports Ernie Reyes on InterAksyon.com.
In case you didn’t know, the report explained that “Atty. Bondal is one of the complainants in a plunder case filed against the Vice President and his son, the incumbent Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr., in connection with the alleged overpricing of Makati City Hall Building II.”
This time, Bondal is also claiming that the Makati Science High School building was overpriced by PHP862 million.
The report noted: “Bondal said the Makati City Science High School project, which cost PHP1.333 billion, should have cost only PHP470 million.”
Bondal added that “Hilmarc’s Construction Corp., which also cornered the Makati City Hall Building II project, was the contractor of the high school building.”
The Vice President has denied all the previous claims against him and will no doubt deny this one as well.
