Nice save, Makati cops!
“At around 9:15am on Tuesday, June 17, British national Nathali Lian Islam, 26, threatened to jump off the second floor terrace of the Virra Condominium along P. Burgos Street in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.
According to Senior Superintendent Jaime Santos, “a rescue team composed of officers from the Police Substation 6, Makati Rescue and the Special Reaction Unit of the Makati Fire Department arrived at the scene and tried to convince Islam to go down.”
Santos said that “Islam, who appeared to be depressed, then sat on the edge of the terrace and threatened to jump.” Then, she suddenly started crying. That was when the members of the rescue team approached her and took her down safely.
Islam was brought to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment.
Well, we hope she doesn’t try it again.
