“A majority of senators on Thursday, Marc 12, let the Sandiganbayan know they were going to back the proposal to place Senator Juan Ponce Enrile under house arrest given his advanced age and frail health,” reports Leila B. Salaverria in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The report noted: “Fifteen senators co-signed a letter Sen. Tito Sotto sent to the antigraft court’s Third Division, wherein he conveyed their sentiments and attached a copy of his privilege speech urging compassion for the 91-year-old Enrile.”

For the record, the senators who signed the letter are the following:

  1. Sen. Tito Sotto
  2. Sen. Franklin Drilon
  3. Sen. Sergio Osmeña III
  4. Sen. JV Ejercito
  5. Sen. Nancy Binay
