Majority of Pinoys say they’re poor

Compared to scammers like Janet Lim Napoles, of course many of us see ourselves as “poor.”

“The results of a new Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey shows that 53% of the respondents or about 11.5 million Filipino households claim to be poor,” reports Louis Bacani on Philstar.com.

The report also said that “an estimated 8.5 million families or 39 percent of the respondents also claimed to be poor in terms of food.”

The survey was conducted from March 27 to 30. It involved face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adult Filipinos who were asked to choose whether their families were “poor,” “not poor,” or “on the line.”
