“A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was struck 22 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas at 7:52 p.m. Friday, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in an advisory,” reports Philstar.com.
As such, ground shaking was felt in various parts of Metro Manila and neighboring provinces as well.
The report went on to detail the intensity felt in nearby areas:
Intensity 4 — Malolos, Bulacan; Tagaytay City; Mabini, Batangas; Indang and Rosario in Cavite; Naujan, San Teodoro, Pola and Socorro areas in Oriental Mindoro
Intensity 3 — Quezon City; Pasig City; Taguig City; Manila City; Paranaque City; Bacoor, Cavite; Baco, Oriental Mindoro; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Talisay, Batangas; and in Taal Volcano Island
Intensity 2 — Binangonan, Rizal; Lucban, Quezon; Makati City; and San Pedro, Laguna
Intensity 1— Caloocan City
