LTO postpones ‘no plate, no travel’ policy implementation

Once again, a delay.

“The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has postponed the implementation of the ‘no plate, no travel’ policy after automobile manufacturers and dealers asked for more time to claim newly issued plates,” reports Kris Bayos in Manila Bulletin.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Alfonso Tan confirmed on yesterday, July 29, that policy won’t be enforced as planned on August 1.

Tan explained, “We were planning on re-implementing the policy on August 1, but the manufacturers and dealers are asking for a deferment since it would take time for them to complete the requirements.”

The public is advised to wait for the LTO advisory on the resumption of apprehension of motor vehicles without license plates.
