Is this a blessing or a curse?

“The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has become the first national government agency to accept debit card payments under the single treasury account program of the government,” reports Czarina Nicole O. Ong in Manila Bulletin.

The report noted: “The LTO signed a point-of-sale tripartite agreement with the Bureau of Treasury and Department of Budget and Management at the Bulwagang Romeo of the LTO Central Office on East Avenue in Diliman, Quezon City.”

The report explained that “the credit card payment scheme will be initially made available in 17 major LTO offices, to be followed by select district and satellite offices.”

LTO officials hope that in one month they will be able to cover 100 to 200 LTO offices.
