LTFRB fines 5 bus firms for various violations

This confirms what Metro Manila commuters have known all along.

“The  Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)  has issued notices of assessment against Pascual Liner, Superlines Transport Co. Inc., Unicab Trans, Princess Youhan, and RCCG, subjects of the agency’s latest random terminal inspections,” reports Tempo.

Pascual Liner has fines amounting to PHP1.42 million for violations like the illegal transfer of engine, no PWD (person with disability) seats, the absence of “No Smoking” signs, and no body markings.

Superlines has to pay PHP804,000 for the same violations as Pacual Liner, albeit to a “lesser” extent.

Unicab Trans has to pay PHP524,000 for its expired advertisement permit, incomplete body markings, and failure to display a fare guide.

RRCG has to cough up PHP154,000 for incomplete body markings, broken windshield and tail lights, no fare matrix, and illegal transfer of engine.

Princess Youhan was fined PHP32,000 for various violations.

LTFRB chairman Atty. Winston Ginez said these bus companies need to pay their respective fines as soon as possible or they will not be allowed by the board to apply for the renewal of their certificates of public conveyance.
