“The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will implement a ‘skip train’ scheme on LRT Line 1 and 2 when school opens this June,” reports dzMM correspondent Jon Ibañez on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report explained that “the system will be similar to the express train scheme being implemented in the Metro Rail Transit (MRT), wherein trains only stop at designated stations to bring passengers faster to their destinations.”
The skip-train scheme will be implemented all throughout school year 2014-2015 in LRT-1 from Baclaran to Roosevelt, and LRT-2 from Recto to Santolan.
The LRTA will likewise add more trips on both lines during rush hours.
