Women who rode the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) train were treated to free rides in honor of International Women’s Day.
Between 7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm, authorities at LRT-2 stations allowed women to board trains without paying for fare, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) confirmed on their Facebook page.
The train authority also offered free medical services such as blood typing tests, blood pressure checks, and random blood sugar testing at the Recto and Araneta Center-Cubao terminals.
The LRTA said that the gesture was to showcase its support for women.
