LRT 1 train doors won’t close, disrupts operations

Who needs more proof that our trains aren’t really that safe anymore?

“The operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 in Manila were disrupted on Wednesday morning, August 27 after the doors of its coaches failed to close,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.

According to the report, “LRT personnel directed the passengers at the northbound portion of the Pedro Gil station before noon to alight from the coaches due to the mechanical malfunction.”

As of 12:14 p.m., LRT personnel were still trying to determine the cause of the mechanical problem.
