Lotto outlet employees fight off robbers

Whoever hired them must feel so proud.

“At around 7pm on Tuesday, Mar 11, three still-unidentified men attempted to rob a lotto outlet located at 56-A Road 1, Barangay Project 6, Quezon City,” reports Francis T. Wakefield in the Manila Bulletin.

The robbers arrived at the lotto outlet on board a tricycle. The two men with handguns announced the robbery and ordered lotto outlet cashier Cherry Grabillo to take the money out of the cash register and hand it over to them.

Instead of doing what the robbers wanted, Grabillo grabbed one suspect’s firearms. Then, Dindo Celso, the 17-year-old “houseboy” of the lotto outlet, sounded the alarm of the establishment. This caused the suspects to scamper towards their getaway tricycle and escape heading towards Mindanao Avenue.

The incident was noted by the police on Wednesday, Mar 12.
