It’s such a craze these days that its fans may not realize it could be dangerous to pets.
In a joint statement issued by the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and EcoWaste Coalition, the groups emphasized the potential harm posed by the rubber bands that may be accidentally ingested by pets,” reports Chito A. Chavez in Manila Bulletin.
According to the report, the two groups issued the warning “after veterinarians in the United States reported cases of intestinal obstruction among pet patients due to the ingestion of rubber bands that causes stomach upset and damage to the intestinal tract.”
Plus, if it can be swallowed by pets, what about babies and tiny tots who seem to put anything in their mouths?
