Dear government, if these IT coders can do it, so can you.
You don’t need to have a beautiful mind to figure out how to navigate your way around Metro Manila. Just download an app called Trip Barker, which won a team of IT coders top prize in the recently concluded Philippine Transit App Challenge.
The app, available only on Android for now, recommends the ideal route one needs to take using public utility vehicles such as trains, jeeps and buses. It also determines the travel time, number of transfers and estimated total fare for a couple of specific routes in Metro Manila. We’re amazed that this bunch of people somehow found a way to organize the cumbersome routes of jeeps and buses.
We think the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board just found itself new management trainees.
