Look: This table was inspired by Duterte!

Change has arrived and it’s even got furniture to go with it.

Woodcraftsman and artist Clifford Espinosa has designed the “Perlas ng Silangan” table, which he says is inspired by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Made of 75 pieces of upcycled wood, the table shows the three colors of the Philippine flag coming together, symbolizing the unity of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The table is composed of interlocked parts. There are no nails used to hold it together,” reports ABS-CBN News.

Explaining the symbolism on the table, Espinosa stated, “We have to be brave enough to create original Filipino designs. This is a way for our country to advance.”

The Duterte-inspired table is currently on display at the Globe Art Gallery at the Globe Tower at the corner of 32nd Street corner 7th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, taguig. The exhibit, which also features Espinosa’s other furniture pieces, will run until Jul 22.
