Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach made Instagramers do a double take on Sat, Aug 6, after she posted a picture of herself sunbathing in nothing but a sexy black bikini.
The prim and proper and always-wholesome beauty queen made an exception for a good cause: She was trying to raise awareness of HIV testing.
Her message is meant for everyone in the world, but we hope her followers in the Philippines are paying close attention.
More than 700 cases of HIV were reported to the Department of Health in May 2017, making the total of HIV cases reported to the DOH 518 during the first five months of the year alone, reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.
“Since 1984, a total of 34,158 HIV cases have been recorded in the country, including 3,070 AIDS cases and 1,759 deaths,” adds the report.
There’s no shame in taking an HIV test. Pia herself got tested at Apicha Community Health Center in New York City on May 18, and she’s been constantly posting photos to encourage everyone to get checked.
