This is the reason why we dread Mondays!
What a way to start the work week. Passengers of a southbound Metro Rail Transit (MRT)-3 train were forced to walk on the tracks between Ortigas-Santolan at around six o’clock this morning, Apr 25.
One of our Facebook followers noted that there had been a service interruption from North Avenue station in Quezon City all the way to Shaw Boulevard station in Mandaluyong.
According to ABS-CBN News, “an MRT train stalled around 5:43 a.m. along the southbound lane of Kamuning Station in Quezon City. Trips were temporarily limited from Taft Avenue to Shaw Boulevard stations only. Normal operations resumed 6:37 a.m.”
We have sent a query to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to get their side of the story.
Just this weekend, additional trains were acquired to expand the capacity of the MRT-3. They are still being assembled and checked to ensure the safety of the passengers, according to the Official Gazette.
