It’s easy to forget that the feisty senator is a lola too.
Here’s a reminder.
An adorable photo of Miriam Defensor Santaigo along with her husband Narciso, and three of their five grandchildren was posted on her social media accounts last Monday night.
“This photo was taken today by Senator Santiago’s daughter-in-law. The senator and her family would like to thank everyone who continues to pray and wish for her immediate healing and recovery. #MiriamFight,” the caption read.
Santiago was rushed to the hospital after she developed pneumonia earlier this month.
According to an update on her Facebook page, her pneumonia has been placed under control and she continues to feel better.
The political veteran celebrated her 71st birthday last June 15. She received greetings on from her supporters and fellow politicians.
“I thank our Creator for being given the opportunity to serve our country, and for being blessed with a happy family and good friends for the past 71 years. I have said this before, and I will say it again: All things work for good to those who love God,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
Santiago will end her term as senator on June 30.
