The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has introduced new relief packages being distributed to families affected by the typhoons Karen and Lawin.
The relief pakages were neatly packed in a convenient box and sealed with tape. Plus there were no visible names or photos of politicians printed on the packaging.
According to DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, the boxes contain the ‘DSWD Family Foodpack,’ which has enough food supply to last a family of five for two days.
Each box contains 6 kilogram of rice, 4 cans of sardines, 4 cans of corned beef or beef loaf and 6 sachets of coffee or cereal energy drink.
“Family food packs transported by foot to Sitio Simod, Brgy. Malibang, in Pudtol, Apayao,” Tagudao captioned the photos on her Facebook page.
She also shared photos of families who received the packages.
For comparisson here is a photo of a DSWD relief package distributed to the victims of Typhoon Ruby in Dec 2014.
The 2014 relief package has the same contents as the 2016 version, but packing the good in boxes made such a huge, especially for families who have to treck back home after receiving the goods.
