25 years ago, Grace Poe married Neil Llamanzares.
Many things have happened since. Poe’s legendary father action star Fernando Poe Jr. passed away in 2004. Poe ran and lost in the presidential elections last May. In spite of all the hurdles, however, the marriage of Poe and Llamanares remains strong.
The couple celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in a star-studded celebration in Makati City on Jul 27.
According to Ricky Lo’s Fanfare column on Philippine Star, about 400 guests graced the event. In addition to the couple’s family and relatives, showbiz friends, colleagues in politics, and schoolmates from way back were present.
The event was hosted by Roderick Paulate and Gladys Reyes.
The program featured Jonalyn Viray and Martin Nievera. Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez also performed.
Celebrities and politicans mingled and partied.
Some of the dishes served by Hizon’s catreing for dinner were linguini nest aglio olio, roasted salmon with tarragon buerre blanc and lemon slices; mixed tempura with beef teppanyaki and vegetable stir fry and paella Valenciana.
Incidentally, yesterday was the 75th birthday of Grace Poe’s mother Susan Roces. Grace posted a touching greeting on her Twitter account.
Perhaps it’s not such a bad thing that you lost the presidential race, Senator Grace.
After all, our President Rodrigo Duterte recently complained of being lonely in the Palace.
