The gunman who went on a rampage at Resorts World Manila casino last night killed himself by setting himself on fire after resisting arrest. Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Friday confirmed this story to the media on Friday morning.
“He lied in bed, covered himself in a blanket, poured gas on the blanket and set himself on fire. He’s burned.” Dela Rosa said in a report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
A six-foot tall Caucasian man was responsible for the attack.
The gunman fired shots and set gaming tables alight in Resorts World Manila, near Manila’s international airport, early on Friday.

“There is a lone man who entered the second floor of Resorts World Manila. He was carrying an M4 rifle and he burned gambling tables. He did not shoot anyone,” Dela Rosa said
Dela Rosa denied the claims that the terror group IS is behind the atttack.

Police authorities are saying that it was likely a robbery attempt. The suspect ransacked a storage area attempted to steal PHP130 million (USD2.6M) worth of casino chips.
