Loboc Children’s Choir bags 2nd place in global contest

A quake can’t keep a good choir down.

“At the recently concluded 12th China International Chorus Festival (ICF) held in Beijing, China, the Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC) from Bohol bagged the 2nd place under the Youth Choir category,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report revealed that “the contest was held together with the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) World Youth Choral Education Conference.”

The LCC competed with choirs from China, Mexico, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, United States, Egypt, Portugal, South Africa, Ukraine, and Nigeria.

The report noted: “The LCC is a school-based choir composed of children between the ages of nine and thirteen years old of the Loboc Central Elementary School in Loboc, Bohol, Philippines.”

The report likewise added that the LCC gave a moving rendition of “The Prayer” in front of the 16th Century Loboc Church after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake destroyed the historic monument in 2013.
