Liza Soberano is new face of Maybelline Philippines

The secret’s out, 18-year-old Filipina actress and model Liza Soberano is the new face of Maybelline Philippines.

Maybelline is based in New York and a subsidiary of French cosmetics empire L’Oreal. It’s the first time for 18-year-old Liza endorse a global beauty brand, though she’s been very much in demand locally.

Her Maybelline campaigns will be shown only in the Philippines.

Maybelline’s been around since 1915, but only recently has it started using an Asian face in ads worldwide — that honor went to Chinese model Shu Pei Qin and Taiwanese model I-Hua Wu.

At a press conference held at Green Sun Hotel in Makati on Tue, Aug 2, Liza described the experience as a dream come true. She even recalled the first Maybelline products she ever bought: mascara and Baby Lips!

Liza — who placed sixth in the 26th Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2015 by website TC Candler — could not hide her excitement and immediately told her fans the news on Instagram and Twitter.
