In his Jan 20 privilege speech, Senator Bong Revilla dubbed Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas as “Boy Pick-up.” He had claimed that Roxas had picked him up for a meeting with President Noynoy Aquino, wherein he alleged he was asked to help impeach Chief Justice Renato Corona.

However, Revilla’s fellow actor-turned-politician Sen. Lito Lapid said he himself was not “picked-up” by Roxas for a meeting with PNoy during the Corona impeachment trial.
“In fact, Lapid also defended Roxas, saying it was typical for Roxas to invite friends and drive them to places when the latter was still a senator,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Ron Gagalac on ABS-CBNnews.com.
“Kahit nung senador pa sya, mahilig talaga sya mag imbita at sya ang nagda-drive. Naimbitahan nya din ako noon (even when he was still a senator, he likes taking people on drives. He invited me for rides before),” Lapid said. He explained that Roxas’ invitations were all “casual and social in nature and political issues were not discussed.”
