Malacañang has released a list of official holidays for 2014, and Filipinos, especially those planning to take a long vacation, could use this as a guide for next year.
President Aquino signed Proclamation No. 655 ordering the Department of Labor and Employment to craft the implementing guidelines for the holidays. It also stated that all holidays in the year, except for those religious in nature, are moved to the nearest Monday.
Except for the Islamic holidays such as Eid’l Fitr and Eidul Adha, all holidays have been marked in the official list. The two feasts depend on the lunar calendar and will be determined next year. MM
