Leni Robredo set to join Obama Foundation’s Democracy Forum

Leni Robredo is killing it in her post-vice presidential career.

After beginning her stint at the Harvard Kennedy School as a Hauser Leader in October, Robredo is set to join former US President Barack Obama at the Obama Foundation’s Democracy Forum on Nov. 17.

Robredo made the announcement herself on social media.

“Amid the difficulties, democracy finds anchorage in the hearts of our people—and it is something we must protect for our future. Excited to announce that I will be joining President Barack Obama at the Obama Foundation #DemocracyForum on November 17,” she wrote, tagging the former US head of state’s Twitter handle.

Robredo joins a prestigious panel that includes Jelani Cobb, dean of the Columbia Journalism School; award-winning investigative reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones of The New York Times Magazine; WE Act Environmental Justice co-founder Peggy Shepard; and Renée DiResta, technical research manager at Stanford Internet Observatory.

Robredo’s daughter, Tricia, who is also at Harvard as a Master of Medical Sciences student, was all praises.

“The proudest,” she replied on Twitter.

The Barack Obama Foundation was founded in 2014, during Obama’s final years at the White House, as a nonprofit that “inspires people to take action, empower them to change their world for the better.”
