The #WitnessHistory basketball clinic held by LeBron James at the Malls of Asia Arena yesterday was jam packed with fans who greeted the Miami Heat forward like a God. James’ introduction was complete with a fireworks display and dance moves. LeBron threw and kicked autographed basketballs into the stands before performing drills.
He then gave a basketball clinic to young players and coached an exhibition game, but the excitement of the exhibition game was too much for LeBron and he joined his team of collegiate all stars against the Philippine national team midway through a 10-minute scrimmage.
James’ team still lost 29-27, and the star attraction missed two shots at the end of normal time to tie the game. James offered the following explanation for his poor performance: “The reason why I missed those last two shots was because my jersey’s too damn small, forgive me.”
LeBron tweeted as he left the Philippines: “What a great experience here in Manila Philippines!! Thanks for welcoming me with open arms, will never forget it#WitnessHistory#Inspire”
