Ain’t nothing wrong about a rap contest, especially when it’s for a cause so honest. Just don’t bring on the gangland violence.
“A rap contest in Las Piñas City meant as a fundraising activity for survivors of super typhoon Yolanda led to a shooting incident that left four men wounded,” reports Jaymee Gamil in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Police identified the victims as Ricardio Tapia Jr, Raymond Villalva, Andie Estocoring, and Veramine Julio, who were shot by unidentified men early Sunday morning on Malunggay Street, Barangay CAA.
The incident happened just as the four were heading home from the rap contest, where they were involved in a scuffle with a group that included some of the contest organizers.
A man has been arrested by the police in connection with the attack, but police declined to identify the suspect, saying the people involved in the incident are negotiating an out-of-court settlement.
