“As Senator Bong Revilla marked his 48th birthday on Thursday, September 25, his wife, Cavite Second District Rep. Lani Mercado said her one one wish was for his bail petition to be granted,” reports Jeffrey Damicog in Manila Bulletin.
The report noted: “With the continued hearings at the Sandiganbayan First Division on his petition for bail, Revilla also marked the first time to have a birthday while detained at the Custodial Center of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame.”
Mercado was quoted as saying, “We’re close to the last three witnesses already. I hope the court can decide in our favor.”

For his part, Revilla said, “It’s my first time to celebrate my birthday in detention but still I am happy.”
However, the report added that “Revilla said that he misses his work in television, making films and his fans who continue to support and love him.”
