Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda denied Wednesday that he has resigned from his post.
This, amid reports that Lacierda is leaving Malacañang to work full time on the campaign of Secretary Mar Roxas.
It is not the first time that the President’s spokesman has been rumored to have resigned.
In February, Lacierda denied reports that he had tendered his irrevocable resignation following the January 25 Mamasapano incident that saw 44 police commandos killed in action.
Lacierda has long been associated with the Aquino administration’s Balay faction, which supported Roxas in the 2010 election. The other power bloc in the government, the Samar faction, supported Roxas’s rival, Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Roxas is rumored to be running for president in 2016. (with a report by The Philippine Star)
