De La Salle University is leading all schools in the UAAP’s general championship race with the successful run of his men’s and women’s basketball teams. DLSU garnered 162 points, ahead of the University of Santo Tomas’ 146 points.
The Archers snapped the Tigers’ 14-year general championship streak last year, when several of their teams rallied in the final stretch to give DLSU the general championship.
Points are given to teams depending on its placing at the end of a sporting event. For instance in Men’s Basketball, DLSU gets 15 points for being the champion, UST gets 12 points, FEU, 10 points, and Ateneo, 8 points. Teams in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth positions get, 6 points, 4 points, 2 points and, 1 point respectively.
