It won’t be an easy day for residents in certain parts of Quezon City.
“The La Mesa Dam in Quezon City has overflowed, threatening flooding in low-lying areas around the reservoir,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to the Philippine Information Agency, as of 9am water level at the dam was at 80.17 meters above sea level. The dam’s spilling level is 80.15 masl.
Meanwhile, Manila Water corporate communications head Jeric Sevilla announced that “residents living in Quezon City and near Tullahan River, which runs through CAMANAVA area, will be affected by the overflowing of the dam.”
Sevilla revealed that “one of the first areas to be affected by the overflow of the dam will be West Fairview in Quezon City.”
The report noted that flooding is also expected in the following areas in Quezon City:
1. Forest Hills Subdivision
2. Quirino Highway
3. Goodwill Homes
4. Barangay Capri
5. Barangay Sta. Quiteria
6. Barangay San Bartolome
