Krisel Mallari, the high school salutatorian whose graduation speech was interrupted, has finally enrolled in the Accountancy program of the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

A report by The Varsitarian, the university’s official student publication, said the Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy accepted Mallari’s credentials.

”She was accepted on the merit of the credentials she presented to us,” said Dean Patricia Empleo of the Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy.

‘Mallari almost did not make it to the enrollment after her school, Sto. Nino Parochial School, refused to issue her a good moral character certificate.

She prevailed when the Court of Appeals granted her petition and ordered the school to produce the certificate.

Mallari became controversial when she was interrupted in the middle of her graduation speech, where she insinuated that she was supposed to be the batch valedictorian but was cheated by allegedly unfair school officials.
