Korina Sanchez denies ‘suspension rumors’ after tiff with CNN’s Anderson Cooper

In the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda, ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez got flak for slamming CNN’s gunmetal grey god Anderson Cooper. At the time of his report, he noted that relief efforts in Tacloban City were not really organized.

She reacted to his observation, saying that the government was doing its best. Or something to that effect. The problem was, she’s married to Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas. Netizens accused her of being “biased.” Cooper was praised for his no-nonsense reporting.

Shortly after that, people noticed that Sanchez failed to appear on TV Patrol. Rumors alleged that she had been suspended.

“But in an interview with Jasmine Romero in the dzMM program Rated Korina on Tuesday morning, Nov 19, Korina said the speculations about her absence is not true,” reports Chuck Smith on Philstar.com.

The report quoted Korina. “Yung mga espekulasyon, hindi naman totoo ‘yan (Those speculations, they’re not true),” she told Romero, who is pinch-hitting for her during her absence.

Her declaration won’t put a stop to the rumors, though.
