Korean consortium to build international airport in Palawan

And just like that, everyone’s building airports in the Philippines.

“The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has awarded an $82.9 million contract to a Korean consortium for the design and construction of a world-class international airport in Puerto Princesa, Palawan,” reports Darwin G. Amojelar on InterAksyon.com.

In a statement, DOTC identified Kumho Industrial Co Ltd-GS Engineering & Construction Joint Venture (Kumho-GS) as the chosen contractor for the project.

In keeping with its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract, Kumho-GS will begin with the design component by the third quarter of this year.
