Koko Pimentel wants Skyway design probed

With the recent accidents, we can’t blame him for thinking it’s not safe enough.

“Senator Koko Pimentel has filed a resolution seeking an inquiry on the design and safety of Metro Manila’s Skyway following the numerous vehicular accidents at the elevated expressway,” reports Mario Casayuran) on Manila Bulletin Online.

In a statement explaining his move, Pimentel said, “It is important to find out whether the Skyway operator is properly enforcing traffic rules, speed limit and other regulations. However, given this many number of accidents, there is a need to ask the more difficult question of whether the design and structure of the Skyway itself is safe by international standards in the first place.”
