He’s only 16 and he already knows what he’s shooting for, so to speak.
“Kobe Paras—who played for La Salle Greenhills before moving to the U.S. and attending the Los Angeles Cathedral High School—has accepted a scholarship offer from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
He will play for UCLA’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 team.
The 6’6″ player, the son of former Pinoy basketball player Benjie Paras, also attracted athletic scholarship offers from other U.S. universities like Arizona State, University of California-Berkley, UC Irvine, Portland State, Fresno State, and Texas Arlington.
However, he announced on his Twitter page: “I have made my decision… I’m really happy to say that I have committed to UCLA!”
News about Paras’ acceptance of the UCLA scholarship was also featured in The LA Times.
The young Paras’ achievement is another step towards his dream of one day playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
