She gets props for not taking it personally.
“It may be recalled that when Vice President Jejomar Binay spoke before the members of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. last Tue, Feb 16, he declared that among his first acts if he is elected as President would be choosing a new head of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR),” reports ABS-CBN News.
Binay stated,, “Ipapangako ko sa inyo (I promise you), within 30 minutes after I take my oath, you will have a new BIR head.”
On Thu, Feb 18, BIR Commissioner Kim Henares reacted to Binay’s statement. She said, “Kung ganu’n, eh ‘di mas maginhawa sa akin. Alam n’yo, kahit anong oras pwede naman akong palitan ng presidente, so ano naman reaksyon ko (If that’s the case, then it’s better for me. Everyone knows that the President can replace me anytime, so what should my reaction be)?”
She added, “Wala naman pong problema (There’s no problem). They’re (would just be) simplifying my life… I treat every day as my last day at work.”
