Presidential Assistant on Food Security and Agricultural Modernization Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan remains mum about his plans for the 2016 elections — at least till after August, the so-called Chinese “Ghost Month.”
In an ambush interview at the House of Representatives, Pangilinan was asked about his plans amid talks he is one of the possible senatorial candidates of the Liberal Party (LP).
“Wala pang decision. May mga listahan, OK naman daw ating performance sa surveys. Tutal ang deadline ay October pa. Habang andito tayo, trabaho muna (There’s no decision yet. There’s a list and it says I’m doing OK in surveys. The deadline is still in October, anyway. While I’m here, I’ll just do my job),” he said.
He added: “(Maybe) after the Ghost Month, [I’ll decide]. We still have a lot of unfinished business. That’s what we’re working on now.”
Pangilinan is also unsure whether the LP will have common candidates with other parties.
“I don’t know. I’m not involved sa politics of the LP. I guess they also realize we’re loaded with work. Pinapaubaya na muna sa iba itong usapin ng 2016,” he said.
