Kidnapped kid forced to work as ‘professional beggar’ by syndicate

If the thought of people abducting kids to turn them into professional beggars seems unbelievable to you — then think again. It’s not an urban legend, it’s more like an urban horror story that’s every parent’s nightmare.

An eight-year-old boy who was abducted on Nov 13 was seen begging for alms in Quiapo. He was said to be under the control of a syndicate.

“The Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct said the victim had been playing near his home when another older boy from the syndicate took him,” reports Fred Cipres on ABS-CBNnews.com.

After that, the boy was forced to beg for alms in Cubao, Quezon City, as well as in and Sta. Cruz and Quiapo in Manila.

Fortunately, a concerned citizen recognized the child in Quiapo and informed authorities, who rushed to rescue him.

A man named Noel Magdamit attempted to interfere with the rescue operation.

Police arrested him, as he is possibly a member of the syndicate responsible for the kid’s abduction.
