President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s latest government appointee is host/producer Kat de Castro, daughter of veteran broadcaster and former vice president Noli de Castro.
De Castro used to co-host and produce a travel show for ABS-CBN entitled Trip na Trip (which we miss, by the way).
During the campaign season, de Castro openly campaigned for Duterte on social media and even during his sorties.
President Duterte has made it no secret that he plans on giving thanks to his campaign supporters and closest allies by assigning them into public office. During Duterte’s inauguration, De Castro posted a photo on Instagram showing the “forces behind President Duterte’s campaign” and thanking them for their support.
Aside from de Castro, fellow Duterte supporter and veteran comedian/host Arnell Ignacio was also recently appointed as assistant vice president for Community Relation and Services Department of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
