#JusticeforKae kin punctures holes into police probe

An uncle of the slain advertising executive Kae Davantes cast doubt on the investigation of the police, saying it appears the conflicting statements of the suspects presented more questions than answers. As far as Vicente Davantes is concerned, the bungled robbery on his niece isn’t simply about stealing her car and belongings. Vicente said in a radio interview Sunday that the reenactment done by the National Bureau of Investigation placed Kae outside her vehicle and about to open the gate of their Las Piñas house. He pointed out that if the suspects intended to steal the car, the group could have just done so without taking away Kae because she was already out of the vehicle. The uncle also questioned the autopsy findings which said Kae died of a stab wound from a double-bladed knife, but police recovered a kitchen knife at the crime scene. Both the police and the NBI are conducting separate investigations into the grisly killing. Five suspects have been taken into custody and only one, Baser Minalang, remain at large. MM
