Let’s just say he believes in being prepared.
“Makati Mayor Junjun Binay has asserted that he will also not attend the Senate hearings unless the Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee provides him a list of questions and coverage of inquiries,” reports Ron Gagalac on ABS-CBNnews.com.
Binay’s lawyer, Atty. Claro Certeza, said, “We explained that three days before the hearing, we already sent a letter to the sub-committee requesting them to provide us with a list of questions. The sub-committee did not respond, so [we] cannot be cited for contempt since there is a pending request.”
The lawyer exmphasized that “in all inquiries, it is the right of every resource person to know what would be the coverage of topics and questions that will be asked.”
The report noted: “The Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee is investigating the alleged overpricing of the PHP2.2 billion of the Makati City Hall Building II, which started construction during the term of former mayor and current Vice President Jejomar Binay. Construction was finished during the term of Mayor Junjun Binay, son of the Vice President.”
