Ideally, you don’t become aware of dengue by getting it.
“The month of June has been declared Dengue Awareness Month in the Philippines,” reports Inquirer Research’s Marielle Medina on Inquirer.net.
The report revealed that from January 1 to May 3, “a total of 19,406 cases were reported nationwide.”
The number is still horrible but according to data from the Department of Health’s National Epidemiology Center, “this is 51.15% lower compared to the same period last year.”
The report added that “Of the total, 9.68% or 1,879 cases were from the National Capital Region.”
