Long-running Cavite governor Juanito Remulla died on Dec 29 at the age of 81. He held office from 1979 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1992.

According to GMA News Online, “His son, incumbent Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, said his father died at 8:15 a.m. today due to multiple organ failture.”

An ABS-CBN report quoting the deceased’s other son, Gilbert, says the cause of death was pneumonia.

Remulla was born on April 14, 1933, in Toclong, Imus, Cavite, to farmer parents.

“He married Ditas Catibayan and had seven children including former congressmen Jesus Crispin, Gilbert and the incumbent governor, Jonvic,” adds the GMA report.

The wake is being held at Funeraria Sapinoso on Elises Street in Imus, Cavite, until noontime today and will be transferred to the Cavite Provincial Capitol.
