But who’s going to end up dealing with the mess?
Jose Maria “Joma” Sison — founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the chief political consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) — asked about the recent attacks against government forces done by members of the New People’s Army.
The NPA is the armed wing of the CPP.
“Suspected NPA members ambushed government forces in Negros Occidental on Sat, May 28, killing at least one soldier with several others wounded.
“Then, on Sun, May 29, another group of suspected NPA rebels stormed the police station and municipal hall of Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental, wounding a policeman and abducting the town’s police chief,” reports Karlos Manlupig in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Sison said that “attacks against government forces will continue for as long as President Noynoy Aquino is in power.”
These were his words: “There is no reason to have peace with the rotten Aquino regime.”
What, so they couldn’t wait 30 more days until Rodrigo Duterte is sworn into office?
Duterte and Sison are known to be friends and have forged a peace initiative between the CPP members and the incoming government.
