Looks like someone needs to stay put in the country.
The Sandiganbayan issued on Tue, Jul 19, a hold departure order for former vice president Jejomar Binay Sr., dismissed Makati mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. and 19 others.
This is in connection with the alleged overpriced construction of the PHP2.28-billion Makati City Hall parking building, reports The Philippine Star.
They are barred from leaving the country except upon prior approval from the anti-graft court, added the report.
VP Binay faces four counts of graft, nine counts of falsification of public documents and one count of malversation of public funds.
His son, Junjun, faces two counts of graft and one count of malversation as co-accused.
The hold departure order, however, cannot be implemented by the Bureau of Immigration until the Sandiganbayan furnishes them a copy of the hold-departure order.
