It’s a bummer, but crap happens. Specifically, pork-related crap.
“In light of the fact that the Office of the Ombudsman gave him five days to respond to the affidavits filed by his accusers in the P10-billion pork barrel scam, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada said it was likely that he would be spending his silver wedding anniversary on June 28 in jail,” reports Christian V. Esguerra in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Estrada was quoted as saying, “My wife and I will be celebrating a milestone. We plan to attend Mass and invite close friends for a simple gathering, if I would not yet be in jail by then. But at the rate things are going, it seems the celebration would not happen anymore. Masaklap talaga (It’s really harsh).”
It also doesn’t help that his half-brother, Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito, is reportedly among the senators who want to sign the Senate blue ribbon committee report recommending the filing of plunder charges against himself, as well as Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Ramon Revilla Jr.
